My Therapeutic Approach
At the heart of my approach to healing lies a profound belief in every individual's innate capacity to heal and thrive. Therapy is a collaborative journey where clients are not only supported but also empowered to recognize and harness their innate and cultivated strengths.
Each person is a unique individual with specific life experiences that shape their journey, and I prioritize understanding these unique circumstances in our treatment. Creating a safe and empathetic environment is fundamental, as I believe it is within this space of openness and trust that genuine healing unfolds, empowering you to foster greater well-being and fulfillment.
I offer individual therapy for adolescents and adults, providing a supportive environment that enhances well-being and self-discovery. Together, we’ll explore your vulnerabilities and the patterns that may be holding you back, using evidence-based techniques such as mindfulness practices, somatic experiencing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care.

Somatic Psychotherapy:
The Mind-Body Connection
The mind-body connection forms a fundamental aspect of mental health, highlighting the intertwined relationship between psychological well-being and physical health.
Somatic psychotherapy understands that the mind, encompassing thoughts, emotions, and perceptions, interacts closely with bodily processes through neurochemical pathways and hormonal responses. This connection underscores the innate inclination of both mind and body to heal and restore equilibrium when disturbed.
I aid my clients in utilizing evidence-based interventions such as somatic (bodily) tracking & experiencing, mindfulness exercises, and trauma-informed care to capitalize on this connection to release emotional disturbances.
By addressing cognitive patterns, emotional responses, and bodily sensations, these interventions help individuals recognize and modify maladaptive behaviors and thought patterns, fostering resilience and promoting holistic healing.
This integrated approach acknowledges that mental health is not solely a matter of psychological processes but also involves the body's physiological responses and its capacity for self-regulation and restoration.
Trauma-Informed Care
Trauma-informed therapy is a compassionate approach to counseling that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma on individuals' lives. It involves therapists understanding the signs and symptoms of trauma, recognizing how deeply it can affect the mind, nervous system, and body.
I understand how past experiences such as abuse, neglect, loss, or other significant events can shape how you think, feel, and respond long after they have passed.
Trauma affects both the mind and body, often creating nervous system dysregulation that shows up as tension, anxiety, numbness, or overwhelm.
In a safe and supportive space, we explore experiences at a pace your nervous system can manage, using somatic and therapeutic approaches to help you reconnect with your body, emotions, and sense of self.
This process supports the rewiring of the nervous system, fostering resilience, restoring a sense of safety, and opening the door to growth, ease, and a renewed connection to your life.
